Medieval Art Museum de Cluny, Paris.
Six beautifully crafted tapestries, with color and detail in perfect condition. Five of them represent the five senses, most recently "A mon seul desire"
A mon seul desire ... the largest and most beautiful of all.
fascinates me still today remember the sight of these tapestries, in general the whole museum is a place of pilgrimage for lovers of the medieval world. Animals
fantastic, mythical, like the lion and unicorn, and familiar animals:, birds, hares, inhabit the bottoms of the tapestry, giving them a fairy sleep environment. Surrounded by fruit trees, holly, flowers ...
L The tapestry of the Lady and the Unicorn are of Flemish origin and are woven in wool and silk late fifteenth century, preserved extraordinarily color and texture. Were d Prosper Merimee escubiertos in 1841 in the castle of Boussac, and immediately entered the legend by the writings of George Sand, who described them.
